About Us

Building a future where every child belongs.

Baraka Rose and Felix Charity Organization (BAROFE) is a non-Government Organization registered in 2022 under Reg. No. 00NGO/R/R3887. The organization aims to help the most vulnerable children and youth in Tanzania mainland.

Its headquarters is within Lushoto District, Tanga Region, Tanzania, with plans for a branch in Tanga City, and further branches in other regions of Tanzania mainland over time.

The objective of establishing BAROFE is to help the most vulnerable children and youth, especially orphans, by providing them with basic needs for living, and by helping them access education and vocational training.

As a charity organization formed to promote and support community development initiatives, BAROFE is guided by its own constitution, shaping how it operates and behaves as it works toward eradicating poverty among children and youth.

The Challenge

Why this work matters

The major challenge facing our society at the moment for children and young people is the lack of awareness to take care of people who are in difficult circumstances. Children in difficult circumstances often do not get the good education and upbringing needed to become independent citizens — a gap that places a growing burden on government to serve this group in the future.

Young people in difficult environments, especially orphans, need better education and opportunities to develop themselves. Without this, many end up unemployed later in life, facing hardship that deepens poverty and dependency across society.

This is a problem that needs various stakeholders working together to address it.

Our Commitment

Aligned with Tanzania's national goals

The desire underpinning BAROFE's work is to continue supporting our country's efforts toward the goals stipulated in the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in the direction of the Country Vision 2025 objectives: to eradicate absolute poverty and attain sustainable human development.

In line with the Country Vision and Strategies, BAROFE is committed to working with local leader communities to enhance their dignity and livelihood conditions toward the realization of their desired future. This mission is pursued through networking, capacity building, and advocacy — so that sustainable development, and with it improved human wellbeing, is attained.
